- Currently, HCG is working with project partners to develop
and evaluate two new distance learning programs related to HIV
prevention. These programs will consist of print-based, self-study
modules complemented by live, interactive satellite conferences
broadcast nationally. The satellite conferences will be video-taped
and repackaged as a CD as well as in tape for use in a VCR.
The modules will be made available to community-based HIV prevention
personnel for use in ongoing training and capacity building
within their agencies.
- Recently, HCG has entered into negotiations with Media 1st
to utilize this firm's award winning interactive e-learning
platform Instruct for public health related training and education
programs. This unique platform offers the benefits of having
desktop access to training programs delivered via video streaming
coupled with slide presentations and interactive question and
answer segments. The administrative function allows participants
to print out important slides and tracks the trainee's progress
through series of courses. Once a course is successfully completed,
the appropriate continuing education or other certificate can
bedownloaded and printed by the trainee.
